My name is SphinxGirls. I joined this site about 3 months ago, and in that time have posted 80 deviations. First, I'd like to say thank you to all the people who favorited and commented on my artwork. You've been much kinder to a newb like me than I expected of the internet.
To mark DeviantArt's 14th anniversary, I dug out one of my favorite volumes (Which happened to be the 14th) of my favorite manga to showcase. Happy 14th, and hurray for strategic face covering!
My first piece of art on this website, titled "His Daughter", was a generic kind of artwork, and something that everyone had done before: A Fem!Yugi-esque character carressing the Millennium Box, as I like to call it.
My first piece that received a comment was "Season 0 Acacia", wherein a young deviant like me asked for pointers. I told him/her that practice makes perfect, and that even though a piece may seem really crappy, there's always someone who will love it. You just need to find your audience.
And find it I did. I joined the site because I felt closed in about my artwork. Whenever I asked people I knew how it was, I felt like they sugarcoated too much because they felt obligated to due to...circumstances with my family's profession. (Nothing abusive or cruel, by the way.) Because no one knows me on the internet, I feel like the critisism here is true and honest so I can really improve.
But it hasn't all been a bed of roses. I find myself nowadays juggling real life, this, various humor gameplay videos, and my Fanfiction.Net account, so I never really have time for any of it. Usually, real life gets the shaft.
I also find it funny that no one's judged me for my irrationally strong hatred of Dartz or inane theories about whether or not Puzzleshipping is a real thing. But then again, no one probably cares.
I hope we can continue this teamwork as the years go by.
